The CHANTA CREW, wich is also known as the -SOUND OF THE PEOPLE-, want to THANK all FANS, SUPPORTERS & EVERYBODY ELSE WHO IS WORKING BEHIND THE SCENES with a very special gift for this year christmas.
On sunday the 25th of december 2011, one day after the christmas eve, the CHANTA CREW has organized a "CHRISTMAS SPECIAL" @ Koyote/Duesseldorf to satisfy all reggae and dancehall addicts with a boomblast of good vibes. Beside the -SOUND OF THE PEOPLE-, who is always prepared and ready to heat up the dance to the maximum with their huge collection of music coming from the island of jamaica, the LION ROAR SOUND (dormagen) & ECLIPSE SOUND (duesseldorf) will also present their skills & styles on the turntables to the audience. On the 7th of october 2011 the CHANTA CREW invites all lovers of Reggae & Dancehall music to the 2ND YEAR ANNIVERSARY celebration of the partyseries "Jamaican Nights" -Dancehall & Reggae to the fullest presented by the CHANTA CREW-, wich takes place on -every first friday of the month- @ Koyote in duesseldorf wich is a underground location for all kinds of alternative vibes. Situated in the backyard of an old industrial area it has the right flair to step out of the line of mainstream-clubs.

Since 2009 the -SOUND OF THE PEOPLE- is organising this partyseries with the intention to unite people from all over the world on the dancefloor with the help of sweet reggaemusic. With several national & international guests in the past like: G-FORCE SOUND (ger), KILL DEM CREW (fr), JUNIOR KING (gam), BOOM SOUND (gam), BUN BABYLON SOUNDSYSTEM (ger), SANE GROUND BAND (ger), BIG DADDY DAVE (ja), EASTON -SINGER JAY- CLARKE (ja), HURRICANE (gam), PUPA ARMS (gam), CALALOO SOUND (fr), FOUNDATION SOUND (nl), WILD PITCH SOUND (ger) or UTAN GREEN (ja) the "Jamaican Nights" dance has become the hottest dance to be in town when it comes to real & authentic reggae & dancehall music.

UTAN GREEN

Affectionately regarded as the ..humble one.. by his peers in the reggae fraternity, Utan Green is a rising star of unlimited proportions. In the Waterhouse neighborhood of Kingston, Jamaica, Utan showed a remarkable love and talent for music in his early childhood years, encouraged strongly by his mother. Influenced by Bob Marley and Jacob Miller, young Utan set out to pursue a career in music.

Utan Green's start in the reggae business was in a group called The Invaders, comprised of Utan and his brother and sister. Ian Carlos of Black Uhuru produced the group's first recordings ..Cry of a poor man.. and ..Down in the ghetto... The Invaders performed around the community and were well-received by the people. The group broke up when Utan's sister migrated to the United States, thus launching Utan on a solo career.

In 1979, Utan relocated to Manchester and became a regular performer with the legendary sound system Destiny Outernational, alongside artists such as Garnett Silk, Kulcha Knox, Everton Blender, Yasus Afaris, Tony Rebel and Deuteronomy. After many years performing live on various sound systems and community concerts, Utan began recording his songs. His earliest recordings included ..I'll be there.. on the Rhythm Track label and ..Oh no.. on the Good Stuff label.

In the mid eighties, the time had come for Utan to head back to Kingston to aggressively pursue his musical career, garnering his first notable hit ..Cyaan tek... Utan has been working for various labels, releasing a slew of singles throughout the nineties including, ..The poor cyaan tek it no more.. from the Star Trail label, ..Victory to be won.. from Roof International and ..Man of love.. for Flames Productions. He also released the songs ..Jah for now and forever.. released by the Senya Cum label, ..Falcon crest woman.. through Christian Sougalis and, more recently ..Answer to all jah's questions.. from the Kariang label. ..Rivers of reality.. is featured on the Essence compilation released by Empire Production, and is also the title track of his recent solo album.

Utan Green has had the opportunity to tour throughout the Caribbean, the United States, Europe and Africa. His extensive travels have given him international recognition and the will to continue to spread love and truth throughout the world.

On Friday the 24th of June 2011 the CHANTA CREW, who is also known as the -SOUND OF THE PEOPLE-, invites all lovers of Jamaican Vibes to a top-class "REGGAE & DANCEHALL SPECIAL" with the heavyweight juggling machine outta Groningen/Holland: FOUNDATION SOUND. The Crew around Zebulon, owner & founder of the Soundsystem since 1985, is well known for the enormous amount of special cutted DubPlates including all styles & eras of Jamaican music history. Travelling trough the world with this heavy ammunition of unique tunes and a huge experience of playing shows since almost 25 years, FOUNDATION SOUND has won several big soundclashs and is a guarantor for high quality Reggae & Dancehall music.

FOUNDATION SOUND

It was the year 1985 when head founder Zebulon started to run a sound system. After 8 years he parked the sound and started recording: "Manners" and "Change Yuh Ways" were released as a 7 inch. Missing the sound system vibes, Zebulon decided to return to the business in the year 2000 and re-named his sound: Foundation Sound. From 2000 till now, Zebulon´s been busy building an unique dub-box and establishing an original style. Nowadays teaming up with Junior Gun & Montana, Foundation Sound is a force to be reckoned with. As a juggling sound Foundation has proven that their specific delivery will win over any crowd in any country and they´ve juggled alongside some of the true heavyweights in the business (see below).
Their style can be characterized as ´energetic with quality´. Drawing big tunes and dubs from past, present and future, Foundation Sound will set any dancehall on fire!!!

Foundation´s clash record is even more impressive. In 2006 Foundation took part in the "War inna East" soundclash, where they reached the dub fi dub. Far West Crew (BE) took the trophy that year. The other participants were Rainbow Warrior (DE) and City Lock (DE). In 2008 Foundation was back with a vengeance and took the "War inna Eeast" trophy! They prevailed over the likes of Soldia Sound (SUI) and Soundbwoys Destiny (DE). In December 2010 Foundation wrote soundclash history by winning two clashes in one weekend! Friday the third of December they beat Gunz N Rozez (CAN) and Sensi Movement (DE) and took the "Global Shoot Out" cup. The very next day Foundation was up against Trinity Sound (SWE) in the "Skip Dem Out" clash and again thook the trophy!!! The winning streak continued when only two months later Foundation AGAIN was victorious and finished first place in the first edition of "Time 2 Shine" clash. Other participants were: Guiding Star (FR), Warrior Sound (DE), Fury Bass (FR), Reggae Bash (DE) and Ivory Sound (BE). Foundation Sound continues to expand their borders and attempts to reach new levels at everything they do. Promoting reggae music in all it´s formats is their passion. Armed with a huge dub-box, years of experience and an untiring drive, Foundation Sound is a sure-shot for any reggae music event!!!!

Coming straight from the capitalcity of France: Paris, CALALOO SOUNDSYSTEM will play their very first show in Duesseldorf ever. The Crew around MIGHTY LION & DR. TOONZIE are internationally well known for their massive & heavy juggling of dancehall & reggae music including all eras & styles of these genres. CALALOO is a french soundsystem outta Paris. It was founded in the year 2000 by Mighty Lion (mc), Dr. Toonzie (engineer), Tiben (selector), Kung Fu (selector) & Admiral Lee (selector). They play music the jamaican style: 7inches, dubplates, remixes; and everything with positive Vibes.
CALALOO played shows with TopArtists not only outta France like: Tiwony, Straika D, Caporal Nigga, Mickee 3000, Murray Man, Echo Minott and many more. Ranked on the 4th position of the "French Cup" they played @ the hotspots in France like -Moulin Rouge (la coco)-; -Le Bataclan-; -Le Cabaret Sauvage- etc.. They have won the international soundclash called "War Over The Border" and participated in the "Reggae Southclash 2k8". Regularly touring through the south of france and already played in the major cities of the country like: Lille, Bordeaux, Montpellier, Toulouse, Tours, Metz, Rennes, Amiens, Bagnols-sor-Ceze and all over europe like: London (england), Brussels & Gent (Belgium) or Chemnitz (germany).
